ICC delegation in Tashkent

Mr. Iqbal Sikander, the head of the Asian Cricket Development Department of International Cricket Council (ICC), a high-class international expert, and Nitesha Kothari, the manager of ICC's financing affairs, visited Tashkent on July 11-13 and got to know the activities of the CFU and studied the development possibilities of the cricket sport in Uzbekistan, and the public's interest in this sport.

 

 

In particular, the experts visited the Ministry of Sports Development accompanied by the president of the Cricket Federation of Uzbekistan Aziz Mihliev. Deputy Minister Abdulla Aslanov received them with honour.

 

 

At the meeting, the parties discussed the issues of development of cricket sport in our country and establishment of cooperation relations. In turn, the Ministry of Sports Development announced its readiness to cooperate in popularizing the sport of cricket.  

 

Thenceforth, the guests visited the State University of Physical Education and Sports of Uzbekistan located in Chirchiq city, the cricket field under construction in Qibray district, and the newly established training ground of ANFA cricket club, in accordance with international standards, in the area of general secondary education school No. 258 in Yunusabad district.

 

As part of the visit, the guests and the President of the Cricket Federation of Uzbekistan, Aziz Mihliev, answered the journalists' questions at a press conference with the participation of media workers at the National Press Center in our capital.

 

 

The representatives who closely familiarized themselves with the activities of the CFU and the impressions of the trip and the conclusions about the development processes of cricket in our country will present their findings to the Management of the International Cricket Council (ICC).

 

Based on the impressions of the guests we can confidently say that soon the Uzbekistan Cricket Federation will become a member of the ICC and will be registered under ICC.

 

 

Indeed, cricket is gradually gaining a place in the hearts of young people today. We hope that this sport will become more popular, and our cricket teams will boldly go to international sports fields.
