On January 13 of this year, friendly cricket matches were held at Tashkent State University of Economics.
This sporting event was organized by the Cricket Federation of Uzbekistan in collaboration with the Embassy of Bangladesh at Tashkent State University of Economics. The event was held at the invitation of the Bangladeshi Embassy in connection with the ongoing “Youth Festival 2025” in Bangladesh.
The Ambassador of Bangladesh to Tashkent, H.E. Muhammad Monirul Islam, attended the event. Initially, a roundtable discussion was held with the university’s rector, Dr. Tulkin Teshaboev, a professor of economics, and the Chairman of the Uzbekistan Cricket Federation, Aziz Mikhliyev. The discussion focused on cooperation in areas such as economics, information technology, tourism, and sports.
Following this, the cricket matches commenced at the university’s sports complex. In the competition, the Tashkent-based “ANFA” Cricket Club team, a team of students from the university, and the team from the Bangladeshi Embassy competed against each other. The host team proudly secured first place.
Notably, the Bangladeshi Ambassador, Muhammad Monirul Islam, participated as a member of the Bangladeshi Embassy team. Winners and participants received trophies and commemorative prizes.
