Asian Cricket Council Recognizes Uzbekistan’s Cricket Progress
On August 23–24, representatives of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) visited Uzbekistan to review the development of cricket in our country. They toured cricket facilities, met young players at our academy in Tashkent and the Qibray stadium, and held discussions with the leadership of the Cricket Federation of Uzbekistan (CFU).
The visit concluded with a joint meeting involving ACC delegates, including Mahmud Ghaznavi (President of Singapore Cricket Association) and Subhan Ahmad (COO of UAE Cricket Board), alongside CFU President Aziz Mihliev.
Discussions focused on strengthening international cooperation, ensuring Uzbek players’ participation in prestigious tournaments—including the Asian Games and Olympics—organizing training camps, and providing cricket equipment.
ACC officials praised the Federation’s consistent work, the opening of the cricket faculty at the Uzbekistan State University of Physical Education and Sport, and the growing technical skills of Uzbek cricketers.
This visit reaffirms that cricket in Uzbekistan is on a strong path of growth, especially after our recent admission as a full member of the Asian Cricket Council.
