Two-Day Match Referee Workshop Concludes in Kabul
The Afghanistan Cricket Board conducted a two-day Match Referee course in Kabul on December 22nd and 23rd. The workshop was attended by professionals from Afghanistan, along with two representatives from the Cricket Federation of Uzbekistan.
In total, 18 participants, including professionals and individuals from related fields, took part in this specialized training. The course was facilitated by ACB's High Performance Center and was held under the supervision of Graeme Frederick Labrooy, an ICC Match Referee. The aim of the training was to enhance match officiating in Afghanistan, build capacity, and create opportunities for emerging talent. The ultimate goal is to ensure that Afghanistan has a sufficient number of professional and experienced match referees for both national and international competitions.
The involvement of Uzbek officials underscores the growing cooperation between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan. The ACB invited these two representatives to participate in the course as part of an MoU to support the development of cricket in Uzbekistan and provide professional training in various areas, particularly in match officiating.
